Update to V5 Process Change

With our new V5 process, you can speed up switching ownership of the vehicles you’ve won! You can start this online, as soon as possible, without waiting for the physical V5 document. You will now receive the V5 number via email, as soon as the vehicle has left our operation centre meaning you no longer need to wait to get your hands on the physical V5.

How do I digitally change vehicle ownership?

Once you have your V5 number, visit the DVLA website here and fill out a short online form to switch the ownership of the vehicle to the new owner, using the V5 number.

The online process is very similar to the form you would fill out on the yellow section of the physical V5, but it is far quicker. Please ensure you state you are not a motor trader and select that you are selling the vehicle.

If you are reselling the vehicle, this change will allow you to resell your vehicle faster and give you more control over the process after you have bought the vehicle. There will be less paperwork, too!

Will I still receive the physical V5?

Yes, you will still receive the physical V5 document if we have this on file. The best and quickest way to switch over the ownership of your vehicle would be to use the online process.

Please allow time for the physical V5 to be sent to you after you have collected, or had your vehicle delivered. If the lot details page said there was no V5 on file, this means we hold no V5 information, and nothing will be sent to you.

What do I do when I have my V5 number?

Soon after receiving your vehicle, you will automatically be sent an email with the V5 number directly to your registered e-mail address. You will also be able to find the V5 number in your account under “Lots Won”.

How do I locate the V5 number?

What about CAT B vehicles?

CAT B vehicles will still not show a V5 as available on the lot display as these cannot be put back on the road anywhere in the world.
