At Copart, we see a wide variety of vehicles pass through our auctions, each with its own unique story and appeal. Our dedicated teammates often come across cars that leave a lasting impression.

We asked five of our staff members to share their favourite vehicles. Here are their top picks, along with a brief explanation of what makes each vehicle stand out.

These selections reflect the personal tastes and automotive passions of our team. Each car tells a story, and we hope you enjoy getting to know the people behind the scenes who help make Copart a trusted name in vehicle auctions. Let’s dive into their favourites and discover the unique reasons these cars made an impression!

1. Bradley, Customer Service Representative.

Favourite Vehicle: Lotus Elise 3

A Green and Yellow Lotus Elise

A track car at the very core, this example came in as a Category N a couple of years ago, and despite its classification, it was still able to run and drive. With its lightweight design and performance-focused engineering, it embodies the pure thrill of racing. We hope that whoever owns it now is making the most of its capabilities, pushing it to the limits, and enjoying it as it was meant to be enjoyed – on the track!

As Bradley says: “It’s pretty much a car made to do motorsports, so, what’s not to love?”

There’s nothing quite like the exhilaration of a car that’s built for speed and precision, and this one surely delivers on all fronts.

2. Scott, General Manager.

Favourite Vehicle: 2018 Rolls Royce Dawn.

This Rolls Royce Dawn came to us in 2020 designated as a Category N (Non-Structural) damaged car, with only minor damage to the rear end. Despite this, it retained its impressive features, including a powerful 6.6-litre V12 twin-turbo engine. Inside, the luxurious interior and soft suspension ensure a ride of unparalleled comfort.

Scott said: “It was stunning. Absolutely beautiful. I think the only word you could use to sum it up would be ‘magnificent’!”

3. Darren, Loader Driver.

Favourite Vehicle: Ferrari Roma

A red Ferrari Roma

It’s almost every young schoolboy’s dream to get their hands on a Ferrari. So, to get to see one up close is always nice. This example came in as a Cat N and offered a rare opportunity for enthusiasts to own a piece of Italian automotive excellence at a more accessible price point. “Beautiful bodywork, immaculate inside. So, to be able to get up close and personal to one of these, all my childhood playing video games, it was always about the Ferrari.”

4. Richard, Yard Supervisor.

Favourite Vehicle: Land Rover Defender

Land Rover Defender

Last year, this Defender came to us designated as a Category S (Structural Damage) vehicle. Despite its condition, it still held the charm and rugged appeal that Land Rover enthusiasts adore. Even with all the vehicles he’s seen over the years, Richard still appreciates the Meccano-like design of the Defender – easy to take apart, easy to put back together again.

“My uncle used to have one when I was younger, so every time one comes in it just brings back those good childhood memories.”

It's a real workhorse, perfect for those who love the countryside and need a reliable vehicle for off-road adventures. We hope it found a new owner!

5. Luke, Yard Operative.

Favourite Vehicle: Toyota Supra Mk5

A black Toyota Supra.

Despite using a lot of parts from BMW’s Z4, the spirit of a true JDM classic remains in this car. This one came with the larger 3.0L six-cylinder turbo (straight from BMW) but the base model had a 2.0L four-cylinder engine (also BMW). Unfortunately, it came to us as a Category B (Breaker) vehicle, with damage to the front and rear ends. However, we hope someone has been able to break it down and donate the usable parts to another Supra, ensuring that this one lives on in some way. “As a fan of the JDM cars, for me it’s an inspiration for something I could get in the future.”

So, there we have it! We really enjoyed hearing from some of our teammates, and we’d love to hear from you about your favourite vehicles from any of our 19 Operation Centres across the UK!
