5th Place: Jaguar XK8

This sporty Jag is definitely shaken, not stirred, with the XK8 coming in 5th place. After gracing the stage in James Bond’s Die Another Day, this 4.0L monster was thrust to the forefront of public opinion after becoming the vehicle of choice for the Bond villain Tang Ling Zao, played by Rick Yune – who might also be recognized by the automotive community for his role as Johnny Tran in The Fast and The Furious. Great choice, Rick!

4th Place: Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet

The Golf Cabriolet has the perfect blend of practicality and reliability that many ordinary folks want while still being able to enjoy the perks a convertible can offer. While not as flashy or fast as the XK8, the Golf Cabriolet is still a Golf! It’s hard-topped hatchback cousin is one of the most popular cars through our auction for a reason. Top-notch build quality, great resale value, and fantastic practicality make this a decent choice for anyone wanting a convertible that can withstand the strain of day-to-day use.

3rd Place: BMW 3 Series

The epitome of a driver’s car, the 3 Series embodies automotive passion. With its muscular stance, sleek lines, and the iconic kidney-shaped grille on the front, every generation of the popular Beemer is still a highly desirable car in its own right. Being a BMW, we know that the build quality is likely to be top of its class, and with rear-wheel drive, it achieves a 50/50 balance between the front-mounted engine and the rear wheels, making the driving experience something to remember. Just remember, folks, the indicators do work!

2nd Place: Audi A4 Cabriolet

If you ripped the top off your dad’s car, the A4 Cabriolet is probably what it would look like. The A4 is a grown-up car with a grown-up attitude, and it has everything a budding grown-up like you or I could want. Even the older models have a fantastic level of interior specs that would make anyone feel like an executive. It might not be the most entertaining car to drive, but it eats up those motorway miles like anything, and it's one of the classiest convertibles on the used car market.

1st Place: Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet

Who saw this one coming? No? We didn’t either. But the more you think about it, the easier it is to see why. It is an absolute classic. Its nostalgic and instantly recognizable design, paired with the bright colours it often comes in, make the Beetle a car to be remembered. The modern equivalent of the Beetle might be the Fiat 500. Built with playful, rounded lines and buggy eyes, there is definitely a target audience in mind when the newer iteration of the Beetle was released in 2003, and they absolutely nailed it.
