What is a CAT S Vehicle?
A Category S (CAT S) Vehicle is a vehicle that has sustained damage deemed as structural. This could mean the chassis or other structural elements of the car have been damaged, or the structural integrity of the vehicle has been compromised. Find out more about Salvage Categories.
Is it ok to buy a Category S car?
Salvage vehicles offer outstanding value for money as they can be bought at a much lesser price than other used vehicles. A buyer will pay less for the vehicle and subsequent repair costs added together than they would for the same vehicle in the used vehicle market.

Do I need a licence to buy CAT S vehicles?
No, unlike Category B vehicles, you do not need a licence to buy a Category S vehicle. Once you have become a Member of Copart and your documentation has been accepted, you can buy as many CAT S vehicles as you like.
