Buying Category B Vehicles
Additional Info for Overseas Buyers
To buy CAT B Breaker vehicles at our auctions you will need to meet the criteria specified below.
These criteria are specifically for overseas based CAT B buyers, if you are a buyer based in the UK please visit our UK CAT B buyers page.
In order to buy from our extensive range of CAT B vehicles, you must provide:
1. 2x Company/Business trade invoices showing the FULL Company Name and address (less than 3 months old, office typed – not handwritten and translated to English)
2. Copies of Overseas Business Entity/Registration Licenses showing the business name (translated to English)
3. Copies of overseas registered Waste Management Licenses (if held) showing the business name (Copy of the original front page).
Before providing the above, please have a look at clause 9 of our Terms and Conditions.
To collect a CAT B vehicle from Copart, you (or anyone collecting a vehicle on your behalf) must comply with the points listed below. If you do not comply with these we will not be able to release a CAT B vehicle to you and you may incur storage charges in relation to any vehicle we are unable to release to you, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
Please remember that you or anyone collecting a CAT B vehicle on your behalf must provide upon collection a valid Upper Tier Waste Carriers Licence covering the transportation of the vehicle by whoever is collecting the vehicle. We will be unable to release a CAT B vehicle without a valid Upper Tier Waste Carriers Licence.
Break and Crush the Vehicle Within the UK
As you are breaking a CAT B vehicle and crushing the structural framework within the United Kingdom, you must provide at the time of collection from us, a completed Hazardous Waste Consignment Note (HWCN) stating the registered Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) where you will be taking and breaking the vehicle.
The structural framework of the vehicle must be crushed at the ATF stated on your HWCN, within 10 days of the vehicle leaving our Operation Centre.
The ATF must issue an electronic Certificate of Destruction (COD) or Notification of Destruction (NOD) (as applicable), at the time the structural framework is crushed.
Copart may request a copy of the COD/NOD from you. We can only accept a COD/NOD from the ATF you provided on your Hazardous Waste Consignment Note.
If the COD/NOD does not match your Hazardous Waste Consignment Note, your CAT B permissions will be removed.
Copart has identified a certain number of ATFs that it does not wish to do business with and will therefore not release a vehicle where the HWCN names one of those ATFs. To avoid delays in collecting your vehicle, please ensure that you contact the Operations Centre where the vehicle is stored, prior to collection, to check the status of the ATF where you intend to take the vehicle for breaking.
