Global leader in online vehicle remarketing, Copart UK, have announced expansion plans for their Wisbech Operation Centre as part of their ongoing growth programme.
This follows the company’s recent announcement of their plans to develop a further 23 acres at their Bristol Operation Centre, making this location set to become a 63-acre ‘Super Centre’ for the South West.
Plans for a 5-acre expansion of their Wisbech Operation Centre in Cambridgeshire is yet another strand of Copart’s extensive reinvestment strategy, which combines a programme of land acquisition with continuous improvement at existing sites and reinvestment in transport, services, and technology.
Currently a 16-acre site, plans to develop a further 5 acres will increase overall vehicle storage capacity by around 35%.
Phil Briggs, Copart UK’s Director of Operation Centres, Transport & Engineering, said:
“Our plans to develop a further 5 acres at this location will further strengthen our storage capacity for customers operating in the east of England.
“Annually, this expansion will provide storage for just under 7,000 additional vehicles at our Wisbech Operation Centre and will enable us to continue providing our industry leading services.”
Jane Pocock, Managing Director of Copart UK & Ireland, said:
“We’re delighted to start the new year on a positive note, with this investment into the extension and improvement of our Wisbech Operation Centre. We are starting 2021 as we mean to go on, as a market leader with a passion and determination to keep on growing and improving our services to customers.
“Our ambitious growth programme is set to go from strength to strength this year, as we continue our investment into land, technology and unrivalled operational capabilities.”
Subject to all relevant planning permissions, Copart anticipates the additional 5 acres at Wisbech to be operational by spring 2021.
