What are Caravans and Motorhomes (RV's)?
Caravans are self-contained trailers which provide a portable place to sleep. Many modern caravans also contain cooking, washing and toilet facilities as well. These vehicles are not self-propelled and need to be towed by another vehicle. Similarly, a motorhome or recreational vehicle (often shortened to RV) is a portable accommodation solution, that contains many of the same washing, cooking and toilet provisions as a caravan, but the difference is RV's (also known as Motorhomes and Winnebagos) tend to be derived from a van or other large vehicle, and therefore are self-powered and do not need to be towed. These two vehicle types are typically used for holidays and travel but are also known to be used as a permanent accommodation solution.
